Dining

Hotel 1928 has two restaurants, each packed with nostalgic charm in a cozy atmosphere. Located on the first floor, The Brasserie serves up Texas classics with a twist. Breakfast, lunch and dinner options are available for hungry guests who want a taste of southern comfort. Bertie’s on the Rooftop provides a variety of brunch and dinner options as well as specialty seasonal dishes. Don’t forget to try the Dr. Pepper fudge cake– a Waco favorite.

The Ballroom

Since the 1920s, the Ballroom has hosted weddings, parties, and other celebrations for delighted guests. Much of the room’s finishings were preserved, restored or replicated as a tribute to the original building. 5,800 square feet of event space provide options for flexible seating arrangements, and the 711-foot outdoor terrace allows guests to take in sweeping views of downtown Waco. Large windows provide an abundance of natural light, while crystal chandeliers and touches of warm lighting give the space a luxurious feel. Moontower Entertainment’s Matchmaker Band had the honor of playing at the first wedding hosted on the property.

The Library

Discover one treasure after another in the two-story Library. Once a storage room for coal, the Library is now one of the most stunning spaces in Hotel 1928. A dark, atmospheric room with large windows for light is revitalized with colorful books and soft lighting. Cozy up with a book and a coffee in this beautifully intimate space.

With its 33 thoughtfully designed guest rooms, two inviting restaurants, and an array of event spaces including the breathtaking Ballroom and the cozy Library, every corner of this establishment whispers tales of hospitality and warmth. Whether exploring Waco's rich history or simply seeking a haven to unwind, Hotel 1928 invites you to step back in time, indulge in southern luxury, and create unforgettable memories.
