Originally from Saginaw, Michigan, Dave Robison moved to Austin in 1996. He’s paid his dues – he completed his education at Michigan State University and even survived five years as a middle & high school band director before moving to warmer climates and hot stages.
Influenced by trumpet players like Doc Severinsen or anyone who played lead trumpet for Count Basie, Dave has been fortunate to play with numerous great musicians from all over the U.S. and also worked for five years in Japan as a performer. Some memorable performances include playing with Wayne Newton on a rotating circular stage during a rodeo and performing with Don Rickles who honored him with personal insults during each show.
Dave loves the simple enjoyment that music brings to ones heart and soul and how it brings people together to celebrate. He is thrilled to be part of special events for so many people and is gratified that his work helps them make great memories.
When he’s not performing or working as a manager at Apple, Dave spends time with his wife Ai who he fell for while living in Japan. Together they do their best to tame, chase, and corral their three wild boys.
