For Matchmaker Band’s bass guitarist, Eric Ross, the payoff for all of the hard work required of a professional musician is both personal satisfaction and the joy of watching a crowd have a great time. Like each of the members of the band, he simply enjoys making great music with great musicians, and it shows. He loves to witness the camaraderie onstage work its magic on his audience.
Eric is originally from Neenah, WI, and began his musical education at 16 as a guitarist. In college, he switched to bass. He has an undergraduate degree from The University of Wisconsin Stevens Point, and a graduate degree in jazz performance from the University of Texas at Austin. Influenced by Pino Palladino, Nick Movshon, Erick Coomes, and James Jamerson, Eric has performed with David Amram, Ndugu Chanceler, Joe Piscopo, the UT Jazz Orchestra, and the late Joan Rivers. His goals are to achieve new heights as a musician and teacher
